Hogmanay is a time for reflection and moving forward. It is a time for change and for wanting to improve on the year that has passed. With this in mind, we celebrate the last day of this year by coming together to be inspired and using the power of our mind to meditate on the development of peace in our life and our world. The evening will include a short talk and guided meditation followed by a bring and share vegetarian buffet and rounded off with a special chanted meditation and mantra recitation of Buddha Avalokiteshvara the Buddha of compassion.
Non alcoholic drinks will be provided.

THE TEACHER
Chammy teaches the weekly Peebles class. She is originally from Sri Lanka and has been practising Kadampa Buddhism in the west for many years. Chammy draws from her experience as a working medical professional and mother of three to transmit Buddha’s teachings in a way that can easily be integrated into busy modern life. An experienced student studying the Foundation Programme, Chammy teaches occasional courses and events at the Centre and within the Scottish Borders. She is known for her kind heart, discerning wisdom and the clarity she brings to her teachings.

TRAVEL
Pay and display parking has recently been introduced into the local area around the Centre.
Tram networks to Newhaven are now fully operational with the nearest tram stop to the Centre being at Balfour Street, a few minutes walk away.
Buses also operate as normal down Leith Walk.
