International Kadampa Festivals

Every year the New Kadampa Tradition – International Kadampa Buddhist Union (NKT-IKBU) organises three International Festivals of modern Kadampa Buddhism taught by senior Teachers.

These Festivals provide a unique opportunity to have a spiritual holiday where you return home spiritually refreshed and energised. To study and practise the special presentation of modern Buddhism taught by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, Rinpoche, the Founder of the NKT-IKBU together with an international community of practitioners.

The Festivals consist of teachings, empowerments and meditations, with short retreats to finish with. Everyone is welcome to attend regardless of experience.  The festivals are fun and friendly, and all the participants join in with helping the festival to run.   They are set in beautiful peaceful locations.  With the Spring and Summer Festival taking place at Manjushri Kadampa Mediation Centre in the Lake District and then the Fall Festival each year in a different location around the world. 

Besides the teaching and meditation programme, the Festivals also provide a precious opportunity to meet and practise with like-minded people from all over the world.  You can ask your local Kadampa Centre about who is attending and it is often possible to organise lift shares or join in with accommodation options.
