what people say about us
Just to say I have completed the meditation retreat online.
It has given my some very good tips and teaching to take away with me.
I will also look at anxiety differently now after this course as all i did before was focus on it.
I was very impressed with Jeff as I felt he took time to explain things and made everything easy to understand.
When I saw this retreat advertised I was hesitant in signing up for it. I have read and heard so much about anxiety I wondered if I would learn anything new, however I am glad I took part. Jeff looked at anxiety from a Buddhist perspective, the causes and experience of it, and gave practical advice on how to deal with these painful feelings making me see anxiety in a different light. He did this with great gentleness ,compassion and humour. I am very grateful to him and to the Kadampa centre for this weekend.
Who we are
Kadampa Meditation Centre Edinburgh’s centre opened its own location on Leith Walk in 2018 after 20 years of running meditation classes in Edinburgh and East Coast.
Our founder is Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche who is a fully accomplished meditation master and scholar. Born in Tibet and resident in the West since 1977, he is the author of 23 highly acclaimed books that perfectly transmit the ancient wisdom of Buddhism to our modern world. He has founded over 1300 Kadampa Meditation Centres and groups throughout the world.
Normally you would be welcome to come and experience the benefits of meditation at our Centre on Leith Walk but whilst Covid restrictions apply all our classes can be found online for you to access, wherever you are, on your phone, tablet or computer.
Wherever we look it appears that the situation outside is getting worse. However we can’t control what goes on in the world but we can control our reaction to it.
Our classes will help you to develop a successful meditation practice that will result in an experience of inner peace in your mind which you can then share with others.
