In this three-week course, learn about the five parts of your mind involved in every meditative experience. From this Buddhist Psychology basis, we can learn how to make our meditations more effective and fulfilling. We will naturally develop the energy and enthusiasm to consistently spend time in meditation. Our mindfulness and concentration will improve. Our mind will become infused with wisdom that will improve our peace of mind. As a result we will have a greater ability to handle the situations in our daily life.
Everybody is welcome to attend all or any of this meditation class series based on the book ‘How to Understand the Mind‘ by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Everybody is welcome to attend all or any of this course which will be based on the book ‘How to Understand the Mind‘ by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche. Each class includes practical advice from Buddhist wisdom and guided meditations. It is great for beginners as well as those with experience.

THE TEACHER
Chammy teaches the weekly Peebles class. She is originally from Sri Lanka and has been practising Kadampa Buddhism in the west for many years. Chammy draws from her experience as a working medical professional and mother of three to transmit Buddha’s teachings in a way that can easily be integrated into busy modern life. An experienced student studying the Foundation Programme, Chammy teaches occasional courses and events at the Centre and within the Scottish Borders. She is known for her kind heart, discerning wisdom and the clarity she brings to her teachings.
