About the course

Many people today feel lost, even broken, with life seeming to have no meaning. Worry, anxiety, despair and depression consume both energy and relationships across the world, everybody is involved. This programme will explain how it is possible for us to transform our mind from its present confused and self-centred state into perfect wisdom and compassion and thereby fulfil our deepest wishes for a happy life.

Who we are

Kadampa Meditation Centre Edinburgh’s centre opened its own location on Leith Walk in 2018 after 20 years of running meditation classes in Edinburgh and East Coast.

Our founder is Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche who is a fully accomplished meditation master and scholar. Born in Tibet and resident in the West since 1977, he is the author of 23 highly acclaimed books that perfectly transmit the ancient wisdom of Buddhism to our modern world. He has founded over 1300 Kadampa Meditation Centres and groups throughout the world.

Normally you would be welcome to come and experience the benefits of meditation at our Centre on Leith Walk but whilst Covid restrictions apply all our classes can be found online for you to access, wherever you are, on your phone, tablet or computer.

Wherever we look it appears that the situation outside is getting worse. However we can’t control what goes on in the world but we can control our reaction to it.

Our classes will help you to develop a successful meditation practice that will result in an experience of inner peace in your mind which you can then share with others.
