In this half-day course we will explore timeless Buddhist advice on the following:
- How can we protect ourself from suffering and unhappiness, including exhaustion and burnout?
- How can we develop and maintain a sense of wellbeing and happiness in life?
- What do we need to do in order to take good care of ourself?
- How can we take good care of ourself without becoming selfish or neglecting others?
By practising the instructions and meditations presented in this course, we can learn to transform caring for ourselves into part of our spiritual practice of cherishing others. In this way, we can protect and look after our happiness and wellbeing, while at the same time being of benefit to others.
The course will consist of guided meditation, teachings, discussion with Q&A.

THE TEACHER
Gen Kelsang Machig is a Buddhist nun, and a very experienced Kadampa Teacher based in Glasgow. Since the pandemic many thousands of people tune into her monthly ‘thought for the day’ advice on BBC Radio Scotland.

TRAVEL
Pay and display parking has recently been introduced into the local area around the Centre.
Tram networks to Newhaven are now fully operational with the nearest tram stop to the Centre being at Balfour Street, a few minutes walk away.
Buses also operate as normal down Leith Walk.
