A Spa For The mind
Hundreds of video and audio talks to choose from that will enrich, calm, refresh, inspire you during lockdown
We are here because we want a new conception of what life is and who we are
We know that if we always think what we’ve always thought, we’ll always feel what we’ve always felt. And we want different outcomes. We want different outcomes for ourself, for our family, for our communities.
We look at the tarnished history of our world, and the sufferings, and the injustices, and we want something different – a different outcome.
And that’s going to require different ideas, new ideas, new ways of thinking. And new ways of thinking can present challenges, because the unfamiliar is often something that we resist.
how do we keep negativity at a healthy distance and maintain a positive outlook during these difficult times?
By focusing our mind onto what we can do
And we can develop new habits. And this is what our classes are all about. We live-stream classes weekly, but during lockdown you have access to previous courses to give you more flexibility in accessing it

what people say about us
I am so grateful to you all at the centre for making this online experience possible.
Thank you for all the wonderful teaching and friendship you have given us this year.
Looking forward to learning more (and trying harder) in the new year.
No question, just really enjoying listening to Gen-la's enthusiasm and wisdom. Many thanks
Who we are
Kadampa Meditation Centre Edinburgh’s centre opened its own location on Leith Walk in 2018 after 20 years of running meditation classes in Edinburgh and East Coast.
Our founder is Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche who is a fully accomplished meditation master and scholar. Born in Tibet and resident in the West since 1977, he is the author of 23 highly acclaimed books that perfectly transmit the ancient wisdom of Buddhism to our modern world. He has founded over 1300 Kadampa Meditation Centres and groups throughout the world.

Normally you would be welcome to come and experience the benefits of meditation at our Centre on Leith Walk but whilst Covid restrictions apply all our classes can be found online for you to access, wherever you are, on your phone, tablet or computer.
Wherever we look it appears that the situation outside is getting worse. However we can’t control what goes on in the world but we can control our reaction to it.
Our classes will help you to develop a successful meditation practice that will result in an experience of inner peace in your mind which you can then share with others.
